Domaine Wilfried et Réjane - Cairanne 2023

Domaine Wilfried's Cairanne is a brilliant example of one of France's most recent AOCs (their highest regional markers of quality). It is an elegant fully organic blend of Grenache (60%), Syrah (20%) and Mourvedre (20%) which are hand-picked by the winemakers. To preserve the freshness and fruitiness of the wines, they are aged in concrete tanks with as little intervention in the winemaking as possible. 

On the nose it is powerful, with strong notes of blackcurrant, raspberry and licorice. On the palate the fruit develops with a hint of spice and nice soft tannins and a lengthy, smooth finish. 

It pairs perfectly with game and roast vegetables. It is very much ready to drink, but will keep up to 5 years in case you want to save it for a special occasion. 

Contains a small amount of sulphites added at bottling.
