Domaine Bader - Chemin des Oiseaux Chardonnay 2023

From the plot called Voegelsgasse, the Chemin des Oiseaux 2023, which translates to the birds path, is an extraordinary expression of the terroir but also of winemaking talent. Pierre learnt his trade in Burgundy, and certainly kept that knowledge intact here. An all organic Chardonnay, that is carefully matured in large tuns (very big oak vats), and some is put in Burgundy oak barrels too, the wines that come out are nothing short of spectacular.

The nose is full of toasty, brioche, honey and vanilla notes from the oak aging along with light stone fruit. On the palate this develops into a round and silky wine, which maintains a bright acidity and fruit that gives way to a lengthy, smooth finish.

Wonderful on its own, it works well with dishes in creamy sauces and mushrooms. 

Contains a small amount of sulphites added at bottling.
